In this series of landscapes, I have been interested in natural shapes, and the shapes created between. Sometimes, I have been drawn to single trees, or the shadows cast on the ground. At other times, it's been the repetition that has been most important. Colours range from naturalistic to more expressionist, but essentially they are straightforward, accessible paintings about basic components; vibrant colour, layers of paint and the simple pleasure of brushstrokes.
